In the construction of civil engineering, there are two kinds of wire rope or rack-and-pinion drive.
Simple lifting platform
Driven by wire rope, most of them are used to transport goods. It is composed of tower, hanging basket, hoist and so on. The tower is generally a truss structure, which is pulled by cables and maintained upright. The hanging basket is welded with section steel and is a container for loading goods. The hoist is fixed on the ground. The steel wire rope is connected with the hanging basket around the pulley at the top of the tower. The pulling basket runs up and down. Rack and pinion drive
It can transport people and goods. It mainly consists of tower, fence, cabin, driving device, control system, jointing device, safety device and lifting system.

Cabin and fence
The cabin is a container for carrying people or goods, and the fence is a device for enclosing the cabin and tower, which is located at the bottom of the tower. Mechanical-electrical interlocking is used for compartment doors and fence doors. When the cabin enters the fence, the door opens automatically and closes automatically when it rises. To ensure safe operation. A spring buffer device is installed at the bottom of the fence. It can protect the cabin from impact when landing and ensure smooth shutdown.
Installed in the cabin, it is composed of motor, reducer and gear rack. The gear at the output shaft end of the reducer extends out of the compartment, engages with the rack fixed on the tower, and runs up and down with the compartment. There is a control system in the cabin, and the operator can run at random. The jointing device is located at the top of the carriage and is a small mobile arm crane with manual or mobile operation. When adding section, the cabin rises to a certain distance from the top of the tower, and the standard section to be added is lifted to the top of the tower by crane. After being fixed in place, the adding section process is completed. In order to ensure the safe operation of the lifting platform, there are speed limiting brake device, travel limit switch, door protection switch and so on.
Compared with simple lifting platform, rack-and-pinion driven lifting platform has the characteristics of high altitude, fast erection speed, safety and reliability, and dual use of people and goods. It is widely used in construction, especially in high-rise building construction.
